Skipper & Scout, a children’s boutique from Vail, opened its first Denver location in Cherry Creek North last November. After four successful years in Vail, owner Kerry Roach decided to expand the brand by opening a second location to meet the needs of her customers in Denver.

“Denverites make up 60 percent of our client base up here (in Vail), so we’re excited to now be in Denver,” says Roach, a Vail-based mom of two boys ages nine and 13. “We cater to growing with a family, from baby up to tween.” The store carries everything from clothing and accessories to small toys and gifts as well as activities and school supplies for boys and girls up to age 14.

Roach sources a unique mix of local Colorado brands and national labels, offering more than 170 brands including Imoga, Sol Angeles, Rails, and Stella McCartney. The new location is also the Colorado flagship store for Ivivva—Lululemon’s activewear line for young girls ages six to 14, which closed its retail stores last year.

Roach recently launched a VIP program at both stores for her loyal customers. To become a VIP, you’ll need to shell out $1000 upfront, but that money is yours to spend over the course of a year and, as a special perk, VIPs receive 20 percent off every purchase. “It’s beneficial for those parents who are outfitting two or three or more kids,” she says.

Skipper & Scout also hosts a variety of in-store and community events each month. Pop in for storytime every Tuesday at 10 a.m., or make Valentine’s Day cards with the Paper Source on February 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. There will also be a pop-up shop at the new Lululemon location in Highlands Square on February 17. 2500 E. Second Ave., Suite 110, Denver.
