DORYS: Math

DORYS: Academic clubs and student leadership activities.
What influenced you to go into teaching?
DORYS: My passion for helping students learn in more than one language and supporting equitable access to education.
What is your favorite part of your daily teaching life?
DORYS: Seeing students grow in confidence and use the skills they’ve been practicing.
How many years have you been teaching?
DORYS: 14 years
In what ways are you active in your school’s community (coaching/clubs/volunteer/work)?
DORYS: I coach teachers, lead PLCs, support instructional planning, and work closely with students and families. Love to participate in home visits to learn about our families.
What is something interesting about you that your students would be surprised to learn?
DORYS: I was part of the theater club in middle school.
If you could pass along one piece of advice to your students, what would it be?
DORYS: Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, learning happens when you try. 💛
