The newest Whole Foods Market store opens near Union Station on November 15 at 9 a.m.; Great news for downtown families and commuting parents who need a fast, nutritious dinner option. Stephanie McCubbin, registered dietician with Whole Foods Market shared some of the easy and healthy family meal options that will be available in the new location:
- Grab and Go In addition to a hot entrée bar, soup and salad bars, and a mac and cheese bar, the new Whole Foods will feature standalone full-service restaurants. Order dinner through the Birdcall chicken restaurant app and pick up dinner on your way to the light rail. Or, go for made-to-order noodle and rice bowls or poke bowls from Kikka Sushi.
- Heat and Serve Pick from a variety of fully-cooked meals for four in the Prepared Foods department. Entrée and sides come all together in one aluminum pan for $19. Heat in the oven for 20 to 30 minutes and serve.
- Pick an Old Favorite Just add a side and vegetable to a rotisserie chicken for a simple dinner option.
- Find Shortcuts Even if you prefer to cook for yourself, precut and chopped veggies and fruit in the produce department will reduce the time spent on prep work and get dinner on the table faster.
