Kristy Lewis wanted to “fix” microwave popcorn for years, making it healthier. When her first son Quinn was born, she set out on a path to create Quinn Snacks — a healthier, cleaner line of microwave and bagged popcorn, pretzels and popping kernels — and to launch a “farm-to-bag” movement. As a mom of three, her Me Time is usually limited to the time after her boys go to bed.

Kristy’s Me Time:

I don’t usually have “Me Time” but when I do, I like to bake or cook or go for a quick hike on the weekends. Happens about once a month. I try to cook for the week. Chopping veggies while listening to music is totally therapeutic to me. Note that when I say “cook”, I mean throw everything into a crock pot. Instapot has saved my life.

Why is Me Time important to you?

It allows me to reflect, which is rare. It’s always go, go, go. It’s hard to be innovative and creative if you’re on autopilot all the time. Me Time helps me get a fresh perspective.

What is the best advice you were ever given?

When asking for advice, take opinions with a grain of salt. If you take all of them to heart, it will be hard to follow your own intuition.
