The engines are revving and the adrenaline is building as Monster Jam thunders into Denver this Saturday, April 26, for an epic night of big air, backflips, and fierce competition!

This Monster Jam will be held at Empower Field at Mile High, making for a monster-sized show.

“For anybody that’s been to a Monster Jam before—if they’ve not been to the full-size football stadium—they haven’t been to Monster Jam!” says Ryan Anderson, the driver behind the Son-uva Digger truck. “In the football stadium, we get to go all out, so you’re going to see gigantic air, crazy back flips… All the highlight reels from Monster Jam come from the stadiums.”

This particular event is more than just entertainment, it’s a pivotal point in the championship series. With only two events left in the season, the points race is red-hot. The driver of the fan-favorite Son-uva Digger truck is just seven points behind the series leader, with Monster Mutt close behind in third.

“This event is going to make or break, potentially, who wins the series,” says Anderson. “You can count on seeing top-notch performances just going all out.”

Fans can expect three competitions throughout the night: a bracket-style racing showdown, a high-skill tricks competition, and the always-thrilling freestyle finale. The freestyle segment is where all 12 drivers unleash their wildest tricks. Audiences can expect jaw-dropping flips, crashes, and stunts.

For those new to Monster Jam, Son-uva Digger comes from a legacy line. Anderson’s father, Dennis, created the legendary Grave Digger truck in 1982 and drove in Monster Jam for 35 years before retiring. Anderson created Son-uva Digger as a tribute to his father’s legacy. Since two Grave Digger trucks can’t compete in the same event, Son-uva Digger allowed Anderson to race alongside his dad while flying the family colors in his own style.

Anderson’s older brother, Adam, is also a seasoned Monster Jam driver, and both brothers will be hitting the track at this weekend’s event. Their younger siblings have followed in their footsteps, each competing on separate tours behind the wheel of their own Grave Digger trucks. The Anderson legacy shows no signs of slowing down as Anderson’s sons are already hooked on the sport and dreaming of the day they can drive.

“The only thing that’ keeping them from it is they just can’t reach the pedals yet,” laughs Anderson.

According to Anderson, getting behind the wheel of a Monster Jam truck is an experience unlike any other. Drivers are strapped into custom-molded seats with seven-point harnesses, surrounded by safety gear that makes them look more like astronauts than athletes. Visibility is limited, with most of the track visible only through a small clear panel in the floor. But once the engine roars to life and the 12,000-pound, 1,500-horsepower machine surges forward, the adrenaline kicks in.

“It’s a rollercoaster of emotions,” Anderson explains. “You realize… there’s pretty much nothing that can get in my way that I can’t crush and jump or do a back flip off.”

For fans dreaming of getting behind the wheel one day, Anderson recommends taking every opportunity to learn. “Any chance to work on anything is a major help. Being mechanically inclined is one of the best skills to have,” he says. Anderson also encourages attending the Pit Party that happens before the main Monster Jam event. You can get an inside look at the trucks and meet the drivers and crew. “Tell me that you’re [wanting] to be a driver for Monster Jam. I can make sure you get connected to the right people to make it happen,” promises Anderson.

Whether you’re chasing a future in the driver’s seat or just there to witness the action, this weekend’s Monster Jam in Denver promises an unforgettable night of high-octane thrills, family legacy, and pure, jaw-dropping entertainment.
