Colorado Teacher of the Year
The 2020 Colorado Teacher of the Year is Hilary Wimmer, a business teacher at Mountain Range High School in Adams 12 Five Star Schools. Wimmer, who enthusiastically shares her knowledge of finance and leads the largest DECA program in Colorado, was also recognized for inspiring “a culture of learning” among her students, by Colorado Education Commissioner Katy Anthes. Wimmer will be honored, along with teachers from around the country, in a special ceremony at the White House.

Ralston House, a local organization dedicated to stopping abuse and aiding in the healing for families who’ve experienced abuse and trauma, will host its annual Chocolate Affair and Fundraiser in Olde Town Arvada on February 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sample sweets from local chocolatiers and restaurants, and watch (or compete in) the Great Arvada Bake-Off Contest.
