What are the qualifications and experience levels of your teachers and staff? At SHJ, we believe that we are always learning. This is true for students and teachers. Staff are highly trained and licensed; many with advanced degrees. Professional development required.
How do you communicate with parents about their child’s progress and daily experiences? Teachers and staff are accessible at daily drop off and pick up. Weekly school-wide and classroom newsletters are sent via email. Online parent portal available for updates, grades, calendar and more.
What is your approach to handling challenging behaviors or conflicts among children? Staff training in Social-Emotional Learning gives students tools to share thoughts/emotions in a responsive way. Students practice skills to become lifelong learners, saints in the making and refine social skills.
What health and safety measures do you have in place, and how do you respond to emergencies? Adherence to CDPH and Archdiocese precautions/guidelines to ensure the health, safety and protection of our students. Liaise with local police and fire agencies to keep emergency plans current.
