What is the camp’s mission and philosophy?
Be the hero of a mythic quest! Renaissance Adventures provides inspiring experiential education programs through live-action roleplaying. We empower youth to achieve their leadership potential.
What safety measures are in place?
Children are coached on physical and emotional safety, supporting a no-bullying policy. Staff are skilled in non-coercive conflict resolution. Children are in sight and sound, led by their Counselor.
What is the camper-to-counselor ratio?
5:1 ratio. Children quest in small groups of six, led by an experienced Quest Leader/Counselor. Additional supervisor staff support the camp.
How are staff members screened and trained?
A rigorous application & background check process allows us to successfully hire exceptional people. 70+ hours of training, including CPR and sexual abuse prevention.
Is there a daily schedule, and can you provide an example?
After checking in with their Counselor, each group of six embarks on an adventure, including solving mysteries, riddles, puzzles, athletic activities, and safe foam sword dueling.
Are there opportunities for free play or downtime?
Opportunities for free play & downtime are fit in throughout the day, as well as a longer lunch period in choosing structured or unstructured activities.
How does the camp handle health issues and allergies?
Staff receive health information for every child, are CPR & first aid trained, and trained for best practices such as supporting children with epi-pens & inhalers.
Are there opportunities for parents to visit or participate in camp activities?
Parents are welcome to visit, observe, or join the group on their adventure.
