What is the camp’s mission and philosophy?

We take children of all abilities (beginner to advanced) and help them level-up in one week! We have 16 original chess lessons followed by 16 super-fun team competitions and activities!

What safety measures are in place?

Children are supervised at all times and the only outdoor activities occur on a child-friendly playground with safety approved playground equipment. Staff has a first-aid kit. Chess activities are indoors!

What is the camper-to-counselor ratio?

We adhere to a strict camper-to-counselor ratio of 10:1 (or less)

How are staff members screened and trained?

All of our camp staff members have been background checked and have passed our PALS Chess Coach Certification. We conduct on-going training on classroom management 4 times a year!

Are there opportunities for free play or downtime?

We have two 15-minute breaks and a 1-hour lunch. We also have a reset and rally area where campers can go if they get stressed or overloaded!

How does the camp handle health issues and allergies?

Our registration process includes a place for parents to detail any allergies or mental or physical health issues, so our staff knows what to expect before day one of camp!

Are there opportunities for parents to visit or participate in camp activities?

All parents are invited to the last 90 minutes of camp to observe a chess demonstration and an end-of-camp auction, where the kids bid on items using their “camp cash”
