Founded in 2018, KIPP Sunshine Peak Elementary (KSPE) educates 180 students from Early Childhood Education (ECE-3) to 4th grade in Southwest Denver. We pride ourselves on our values of Love, Honor, Curiosity, Activism, and Growth. At KIPP Sunshine Peak Elementary, our work is grounded in our mission to provide an excellent and equitable education that teaches our children to be critical and creative problem solvers, lifelong learners, and activists who recognize and respond to injustice in their community and the world.
We are part of the KIPP National Network – the largest national charter school network in the United States. KIPP Sunshine Peak Elementary is also proud to be a part of KIPP Colorado’s educational pathway from ECE-3 to 12th grade. We are one of Colorado’s only intentionally designed schools to offer an ECE to 12th-grade and beyond pathway with direct post-secondary support with our KIPP Forward program.
At KIPP Sunshine Peak Elementary, we believe in building an inclusive school family where all students can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. To achieve this, we offer two language pathways for our students. These programs ensure students first learn to speak, read, and write in their heritage language, while also learning their non-dominant language. Our structure also allows our students of all language backgrounds to be in one homeroom class to foster relationships across languages and cultures.
At KIPP Sunshine Peak Elementary, we are committed to preparing our students with the skills and confidence to live a life of pursuing the paths they choose so they can lead fulfilling lives and create a more just world.
