Established: 2008

Camp Phone Number: (720) 730-9645

What is the camp’s mission and philosophy?

DERS Horse Camps build confidence, responsibility, develop strong horsemanship skills, and form connections with like-minded friends. We provide a quality learning experience that goes beyond the basics of horseback riding.

What safety measures are in place?

Camp sessions start every morning with a safety review and rules to follow in the barn and with the horses.

What is the camper-to-counselor ratio?

6/1

How are staff members screened and trained?

DERS Owner, Corinne Lettau, interviews potential candidates that apply. If the verbal interview goes well, the next step is a written test of their knowledge of horsemanship and safety.

Is there a daily schedule, and can you provide an example?

DERS Horse Camp runs M-Th from 9am – 4pm. On Fridays, join us for a horse show at 11am. Campers are released after the ribbon ceremony (& clean-up) at 2pm.

Are there opportunities for free play or downtime?

DERS schedules water breaks throughout the day, as well as lunch and snack breaks! Other outdoor activities are held at Normandy Pool, and the field next to the barn.

How does the camp handle health issues and allergies?

Our Camper Registration form asks about health issues and allergies. Families are notified via email if there is a (peanut, tree-nut, etc) allergy before the first day of camp.

Are there opportunities for parents to visit or participate in camp activities?

Yes, Friday at the Horse Show!
