What is the school’s mission and philosophy? DA’s mission is to inspire and empower diverse learners through student-centered, differentiated, and transformative education. We use a Partnership Model based on student-teacher-family relationships & in-depth student learning profiles.
How does the school differentiate itself from other private schools in the area? DA teaches students the way they learn best. It’s a top school nationwide for students with varied learning profiles, including those with dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning differences.
What are the core values that guide the school community? Denver Academy’s core values are individual differences, respect & responsibility, community & nurturing relationships, and the transformative power of education.
Are there advanced placement, honors programs, or dual enrollment classes available? Flexible placement in several academic levels within each core subject allows faculty to teach to each student’s optimal level. High school honors and dual enrollment classes are available.
What extracurricular activities and clubs are available? DA offers a competitive athletic program for 6th grade, middle and high school. Clubs include art, theater, disc golf, writing, photography and more. Student Senate, Honor & Thespian Societies are available.
How does the school foster a sense of community among students? DA values the mental, social, and emotional health of our community. A No Place for Hate School, diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI), and Belonging (DEIB) are the foundations of our community.
How can parents get involved in the school community? All parents are members of DA’s Parent Association (DAPA). DAPA supports student, teacher, and parent events; supports DA faculty and staff; and sponsors parent events for networking and community building.
What percentage of graduates go on to college? 80- 90% of graduates matriculate to a four-year college or university. DA’s College & Transition Counseling Dept. equips every student with the skills and knowledge to design a realistic post-secondary plan.
