What is the camp’s mission and philosophy?

BCD’s Summer Camp promises to capture your child’s energy and enthusiasm with plenty of summertime fun!

What safety measures are in place?

BCD has a comprehensive, and regularly updated protocol for preventing and responding to various kinds of emergencies. We don’t, however, publish this to anyone but our families and employees. 

What is the camper-to-counselor ratio?

1:10-12

How are staff members screened and trained?

All summer faculty meet or exceed the qualifications required by the Department of Health and Human Services. All faculty and staff are required to be fingerprinted and background checked.

Is there a daily schedule, and can you provide an example?

Full-day, 8:00am-4:00pm or Half-day, 8:00am-12:00pm.

Are there opportunities for free play or downtime?

We highly value and provide plenty of time for free play and downtime.

How does the camp handle health issues and allergies?

BCD makes every effort to safeguard each child’s health and safety. We are an allergy aware school. An Emergency Contact Form is completed prior to the first day of school.

Are there opportunities for parents to visit or participate in camp activities?

We welcome parent involvement in all of our programs. Please share your ideas, interests, and concerns as they arise. Your input makes us better.
