On Thursday, September 25, the Jackson County Fairgrounds will be transformed into a hub of inspiration, innovation, and empowerment as Transportation & Construction GIRL hosts its annual TCG Day—a day for girls and young women ages 6–23 to explore careers in transportation and construction. This year’s event is anticipated to be the largest yet, with over 2,000 participants expected.

Transportation & Construction GIRL, a Denver-based nonprofit, has been on a mission to close the gender gap in skilled trades and infrastructure careers. With the growing demand for labor in construction, transportation, and STEM-related fields, now is the perfect time to show young women they belong in these industries and can thrive in them.

This event offers an exciting opportunity for girls to gain hands-on experience in the transportation and construction fields. Featuring dozens of indoor and outdoor jobsite exhibits, VR displays, equipment simulators, and 60+ participating commercial construction and general contracting firms, it’s a day sure to be memorable.

Though registration is now closed for this year’s event, T&C GIRL hosts multiple camps and events throughout the year, including Career Week for GIRLs; week-long summer day camps that take young women ages 13–20 on company visits and site tours. These camps are a wonderful way for participants to learn more about transportation and construction careers, network with women in these fields, and get hands-on experience.
