Cirque du Soleil is coming to Denver this summer with their first original show since COVID: ECHO. Performances will be under the Big Top tent in the Ball Arena parking lot in Denver from July 12—August 17. The show blends circus artistry with cutting-edge technology to create a spectacle unlike any other.

ECHO launched in 2023 and has already toured major cities across North America. It’s the newest addition to Cirque’s legacy of boundary-pushing productions, but this time, the company is weaving in a narrative that reflects a modern message alongside its breathtaking stunts.

“It follows a very important storyline, which is kind of [about] the ripple effect…Every action causes a reaction,” says Henrik Veres, a juggler and character performer in the show. “I think most people, when they come, they forget about their everyday [life]. It’s so important because we all have our little struggles, and I feel like when they’re there […] they all forget about what was outside.

Henrik is from Hungary and has been juggling since the age of 12. As a 6th-generation circus performer, he grew up attending traditional Big Top circuses. He says that Big Top circuses are his favorite because of the closeness to the audience.

“Arenas are so big, and I feel like sometimes that magic gets a bit faded and lost. But this one is an environment where most people feel that close connection to you.”

ECHO is full of unexpected moments, and the cast can’t wait to share its story with Denver audiences. Contortionist Eddie Browne hints that his favorite part happens near the end of the show, though we won’t spoil the surprise—you’ll just have to see it for yourself.

Originally from Sierra Leone, Eddie is one of the newest ECHO cast members. He discovered his passion for movement at a young age and was self-taught before attending a circus school in China. Now, he’s enjoying being part of the Cirque du Soleil magic.

“I hope people can understand and experience the show and talk about it so more people can be interested,” Eddie adds.
