Holiday shopping can quickly crush the family budget. Luckily, there are tools in your pocket that could save you a ton of cash while cruising those store aisles. Here are my three favorite holiday shopping apps.

Slickdeals – Free for Android, iOS

Slickdeals Free Slickdeals is a massive forum where people share info on deals and discounts. My favorite thing about the Slickdeals app is that you can set alerts for items on your shopping list. When someone posts a deal for that item, a notification pops up on your phone. Deals happen fast and sell out quickly — especially online — so time is always of the essence.

Coupon Sherpa – Free for Android, iOS

The recently redesigned iOS Coupon Sherpa app is even better than before. It will quickly show you coupons for nearby stores or the stores you have selected as your favorite. Often you”ll find coupons for a percentage off or free shipping. If you consider buying anything at a store or online without checking the Coupon Sherpa app first, you’re making a mistake.

Cartwheel – Free for Android, iOS

Cartwheel is a discount app made specifically by Target to get extra discounts in their store. I use it all the time, but it’s especially useful during the holidays as Target is offering a different toy for 50 percent off every day until Christmas Eve. I stack Cartwheel with my Red Card 5 percent off discount and their mobile text coupons to get as much of a discount as possible. If you frequent Target, Cartwheel is a must.
