On March 16, Denver mayor Michael Hancock addressed the capital city declaring an end to all restaurant on-site eating and public gatherings of 50 people or more for several weeks, per CDC revised guidelines. This came after the previous week’s school suspensions across the state. Here’s a list of some of the latest closures.
School Closures:
At least 63 Colorado school districts have closed their schools for a few weeks, according to Chalkbeat as of late last week.
Some schools in the Denver Public Schools will provide grab and go breakfast and lunches to all kids ages one to 18, and Denver recreation centers are providing dinner to children under 18 while also handing out family food boxes. See this map from Chalkbeat for details.
Venue Closures:
All Denver city-owned venues are closed including Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre, the Denver Performing Arts Complex, the Denver Coliseum, McNichols Civic Center Building, and the Colorado Convention Center. Libraries and recreation centers will also be closed until May 11 or further notice, and all Colorado ski resorts are closed.
NOTE: Many cities across Colorado are doing the same closures of public spaces until further notice (check with city and county websites for details).
