All aboard! RTD’s G Line officially opens on Friday, April 26, starting at LoDo’s Union Station, making its way through Arvada, and ending in Wheat Ridge, and vice versa. The journey is approximately 27 minutes end to end, with six stops in-between.
To kick off their new line, RTD is hosting a number of G Line station parties on Saturday, April 27, with free rides all day. All stops will have fun activities throughout the day, including food and music, fun giveaways, activities perfect for families, and RTD ambassadors available for any question travelers may have.
Celebrate Denver’s newest light rail line with a day of fun on the G Line. Here’s a stop-by-stop guide to family fun near each stop.
- Union Station:
- Splash around Union Station’s water structures, stop for a scoop of ice cream at Milk Box, take a free tour of the Money Museum, or wander through the historic LoDo neighborhood.
- 41st & Fox:
- Hop out for a minute to snap a family selfie with a full view of Denver’s skyline. About a mile walk away, grab a burrito at The Original Chubby’s, a slice at Crush Pizza, and a brew at Factotum Brewhouse.
- Pecos Junction:
- Sit tight on the train at this station.
- Clear Creek & Federal:
- Walk along Clear Creek and peep colorful murals on the side of the RTD station.
- 60th Ave. & Sheridan at Arvada Gold Strike:
- Nothing to see here! Sit tight on the train at this station.
- Olde Town Arvada:
- Where do we start? Run through the water structures, grab a cookie at Rheinlander Bakery, a cold scoop at Scrumptious, a bowl of cereal at The Cereal Box, and peruse jewelry at Balefire Goods.
- Arvada Ridge:
- Hop out at this station to find shopping after a short, 10-minute walk from the train. Stop at Target, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Qdoba, or Li’l Nick’s Pizza.
- Wheat Ridge & Ward:
- Nothing to see here! Sit tight on the train at this station.
Need to Know: A local day pass will get you a days worth of fun on the G Line. Tickets are $6 for adults, $1.80 for kids ages six to 19, and up to three kids ages five and under ride free with a paying adult. A three-hour pass is $3 for adults, and $.90 for kids ages six to 19.
