After a long winter filled with heavy jackets, mittens, and thick socks, it’s time to refresh your kids’ closets with new color and style for spring. Denver has a number of boutiques to outfit kids in the latest trends.
Real Baby
Denver parents Hilary and John Horan opened Real Baby 15 years ago to sell educational and cute items for kids and babies. The boutique, located in the stylish Tennyson area, stocks everything from eco pacifiers and plush toys, to sleep bibs and a collection of Colorado-themed clothing. 4315 Tennyson St., Denver.
Talulah Jones
Half of this uptown boutique is devoted to kids clothing, books, and shoes, while the other half provides home decor, clothing, and shoes for mom. It’s a cozy space, and it offers a large selection of toys and stuffed animals. Owner Robin Lohre’s dog, Aloysius, will keep you company while you shop, which makes it an enjoyable shopping experience even for kids. 1122 E. 17th Ave., Denver.
Isabee Tweens
Noel Wylder was tired of the limited clothing options for tween girls when her daughter, Isabella, was in fifth grade. Isabella wanted clothes that were on-trend, that her mom would approve of, and that were age-appropriate. In 2008, after Noel’s online shop took off, she opened a brick-and-mortar location that caters to girls sizes 7 to 16, with clothes that tweens feel confident wearing. Comfortable fabrics and fun touches—like a rainbow heart and matching racing stripe down the side of a navy top—are tween- and mom-approved. 1712 E. Sixth Ave., Denver.
Hollyhocks
Hollyhocks sells stylish kids clothes, including formal wear, pajama sets, preemie outfits, and gender neutral clothes, stocking many Southern designers to create a high-end inventory. Sizes range from preemie to size 16 for girls and preemie to size 6 for boys, and up to size 16 for formal wear. Check out the pajama sets that match (and come with) children’s books, like the Madeline-themed set or the unicorn pajamas that go with the book, Uni the Unicorn. 2817 E. Third Ave., Denver.
Wish Gifts
The kids section at this Bonnie Brae boutique was designed by the founder’s sister, Angie, who is a mother of three young children. Wish Gifts primarily sells gift items, such as playful greeting cards and home decor, but there’s a curated kids section in the back with children’s hats, pajamas, shirts, and toys. Don’t miss the Hipsterkid, a mustache pacifier for babies. Two Denver locations.
Non-Traditional Boutique Shopping
Shopping “local” in Denver has been modernized with online options, summer weekend pop-ups, and touring mobile boutiques.
Skipper and Scout
After their yearlong pop-up in Cherry Creek closed, Skipper and Scout has one remaining brick-and-mortar location in Vail Village. But, Front Range families can still shop online from the ample inventory of items for babies, boys and girls up to size 14, and tweens.
OB Off Duty
Broomfield-based mom and owner Jennifer Ward launched her e-commerce site after working in fashion for more than 20 years in NYC. Her curated collection of hand-selected items—for girls ages one to seven—reflects the street style of New York, London, and Paris.
The Circus
Best friends Brooke Decarlo and Ashli Speicher opened this mobile boutique in 2017 to cart fashionable kids clothing around Denver, popping up at special events like Denver Flea and Horseshoe Market. Follow them on Instagram for truck locations or shop online.
