Breastfeeding is natural and healthy for baby, but it can also be an intimidating and challenging experience for moms. The new Mothers’ Milk Bank Baby Cafe in Arvada hopes to bring every mom the help and support she needs to give her baby a strong nutritional start.
Every Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., parents can grab a snack and meet up with other families in the comfy Baby Cafe to socialize and talk breastfeeding. A lactation specialist is on hand to encourage the parents and provide them with guidance and support, all free of charge.
“Lactation support can often be very expensive,” says Abby Malman Case, international board-certified lactation consultant and manager of donor relations at Mothers’ Milk Bank. “We want to help all parents meet their breastfeeding goals.”
A second Baby Cafe is scheduled to open this fall at Hygge Birth and Baby Center in the Lowry neighborhood.
