According to the Chinese zodiac calendar, 2018 is the year of the dog, which makes it the perfect time to meet Denver Zoo’s four new endangered African wild dog puppies. Born at the zoo on November 20, 2017, the male pups—named Nigel, Theodore Roosevelt, and Livingstone—and their sister—Cholula—are healthy, playful, and ready to meet Denver. This is the first litter for their mom Tilly, who was born in 2012 at Brookfield Zoo in Chicago. She came to the Denver Zoo in 2014.

Families interested in seeing these adorable pups can head to the Zoo, where they will be in the Pahali Ya Mwana yard in Beson Predator Ridge everyday from noon to 2 p.m., through the end of February. If you don’t make it out to the Zoo in time, the wild dog puppies will be in various habitats through Benson Predator Ridge starting at the beginning of March.
