New for 2017, we are offering attendees seven, free Education Mini-Sessions with a variety of topics pertaining to birth, babies, toddlers, and parenting.

Saralyn Ward has written for a variety of magazines, presented at conferences and made numerous television appearances. Most recently, Saralyn has poured her passion for educating and empowering women into her work as Creator and Producer of The Mama Sagas, a digital video series that celebrates the raw beauty and humor in the imperfect moments of motherhood. She hosts a monthly parenting segment on Colorado’sEveryday Show, a live morning broadcast filmed in Denver, and was honored as a 2015 finalist in A&E Network’s 360˚ Unscripted Development Pipeline for network television.

Ann Kaplan, Childbirth Services & Mom-Me – Ann Kaplan is a birth doula, childbirth educator and founder of Mom-Me, a self-integration program for parents. She received her training and certifications through DONA and CAPPA. Her classes are informative, while remaining mindful of the emotional and heartfelt sides of pregnancy, birth and parenting.

Bethany Melton
, Boulder County Birth Services, LLC Bethany is an RN who has worked in various healthcare settings. She is a DONA-certified labor and birth doula and is a Certified Childbirth Educator through Birth Boot Camp. She has a passion about educating families in order to support them in the birth of their dreams.

Rebecca Green
, Village Raised Postpartum Support – A mother herself, Rebecca has visited many communities in the US and abroad, supporting new mothers as they navigate the challenging journey of being new mothers.


Ashley Mittelsted, Take Heart Birth Services – A co-owner of a team-approach business, with Melissa, Ashley is a certified Childbirth Educator and Doula. The co-owners use a team approach when working with clients offering birth and bereavement doula support, lactation counseling and childbirth/early parenting education.



Melissa Formby, Take Heart Birth Services – A family health education teacher in Denver area hospitals, Certified Childbirth Educator, Lactation Counselor and Labor, Birth & Bereavement Doula, Melissa works with Ashley to support families through their journey.


Lindsay Cardella, Rocky Mountain Birth, LLC – Formerly an English teacher, Lindsay become a childbirth educator after her own wonderful, childbirth experience. She now offers full spectrum birth services for her clients; birth classes, doula birth support, and postpartum doula support.


Amanda Marshall, Birth Blessing Doula Services – Amanda has been working with expectant and “newborn families” for 14 years, offering education, support and encouragement the first several weeks after birth, whether it be breastfeeding, realistic sleep solutions or coping and calming techniques. She has worked with countless families, and has experience with preemies and multiples.

Speaker: BJ Lanser, MD –  The Director of the Pediatric Food Allergy Program for National Jewish Health for Kids.




Topic: Is This Normal? Mental Health for New Moms
Speaker: Sarah Tie, Winding Path Counseling  – A registered psychotherapist and nationally-certified counselor, Sarah is the owner of a private practice specializing in the treatment of postpartum mood disorders. After going through her own rocky adjustment to parenthood, Sarah chose to get specialized training in postpartum mood and anxiety disorders.



Topic: The many ways that doing Prenatal Yoga Helps Prepare You for Childbirth
Speaker:  Rebecca Peterson, Sacred Breaths – A yoga instructor specializing in prenatal and postnatal yoga, Rebecca is also an Advanced Birthing From Within childbirth mentor/educator, postpartum doula and most importantly, a mother.




Topic: Babywearing Basics
Speaker: Kristy Gill is a Center for Babywearing Studies graduate and an insured babywearing consultant. Having three children in three years, babywearing inspired her to empower other caregivers on their own journeys wearing and bonding with their children. Kristy has over seven years of experience using carriers with her own children, and has worked as a consultant for almost four years teaching babywearing basics.


Speaker: Christian Hodge is a Denver native and proud wife and mother of two young children. After working years as a retail pharmacist, Christian became a Clinical Pharmacist with a Hospice PBM which allowed her time to devote to her children, as well as her passion: helping other women and mothers. She is currently a doula-in-training with CAPPA, and is a certified volunteer babywearing educator with the Denver/Front Range chapter of Babywearing International.
